Art Hunt Coming To Costa Mesa

The hunt will begin August 30th!

important rule: only one artwork per family. however, if you find one mustang and want to find more...simply call a friend or another family to join the hunt with you. Help spread the joy of treasure hunting to everyone.

WINNERS GET TO KEEP THE ART! Ten brightly colored and hand drawn miniature Costa Mesa High Mustangs artworks (pictures to be added soon) will be hidden in the public parks of Costa Mesa, California. Minneapolis artist William Hessian is creating the art and then sneding the artwork to be hidden in public parks of Costa Mesa. Costa Mesa High was chosen for its dedication to the arts and community. The hunt is open to the public and everyone is invited to seek out your local parks and search for these tiny treasures. Each artwork is 1 and a half inches by 1 and a half inches square. The first of daily visual photo clues will be posted on August 30th to help aide those in the search for original Mustang Art. All winners and art hunters are invited to send in pictures to be added to the website.

All clues are photographs of the artwork in its hiding places, feel free to print pictures to take on your hunt

Saturday = hard clues
Sunday = medium clues €
Monday = easy clues (if neccessary)

Since the Costa Mesa Mustang art hunt is a grass roots independent art project it relies heavily on word of mouth. Please help and pass on the dates and times to friends, families, children, schoolmates, teachers, park enthusiasts and anyone else that might be interested in joining in the hunt.

Please show your support for Art as Treasure, self representing artists, bring the joy of art to thousands of people and help fund artwork in the parks, by donating. Find out how to recieve a free bearded bunny art print for your donation. (If you have found a hidden artwork, or have questions or comments please contact: William.hessian@gmail.com)

Feel free to talk about the hunt with other Californians here.

City Hall Youth Art Display

In keeping with the City of Costa Mesa's motto “City of the Arts,” the City of Costa Mesa's Cultural Arts Committee has established a “Youth Art Display” in City Hall.

There are four, 4 foot x 4 foot plexi-glass covered cases in the City Hall lobby at 77 Fair Drive in Costa Mesa. Each case's plexi-glass cover is 3 inches deep, and the cases are suitable for displaying art pieces that would fit inside the case and be able to be attached to the display board beneath the cover.

Click on the link below, then complete & return the “Youth Art Display” application for consideration of your school for placement in the display.

Youth Art Display Application

For more information about the Youth Art Display contact Jana Ransom at (714) 754-5300. I hope you will want to show your school pride by showing your school's best in our “Youth Art Display”.
